Many schools in Niger State lack safe recreational spaces, leaving children to play in hazardous areas that put them at risk of injury. This project will build safe, childfriendly playgrounds for 300 students, giving them a healthy environment to play, learn, and grow. By providing swings, slides, and safe flooring, along with training teachers to supervise playtime, the project will promote physical development, teamwork, and joy in learning.
Children in many Niger State schools play on bare ground, near roads, or in unsafe open spaces. This exposes them to injuries and limits their physical and social development. Without proper play areas, children miss out on essential opportunities for exercise, creativity, and social interaction - all of which contribute to healthy childhood development and improved academic performance.
This project will construct safe playgrounds equipped with swings, slides, climbing structures, and protective flooring. It will also train teachers to supervise and facilitate structured playtime. These playgrounds will provide children with a secure environment to engage in physical activity, build confidence, and develop social skills.
Each year, more than 300 children will benefit from safe, stimulating play spaces that support their physical health, emotional wellbeing, and social development. Over time, the project will help create happier, healthier students who are more engaged in school and perform better academically. The playgrounds will serve as lasting community assets, strengthening school environments for years to come.
