Where Your Donation Dollars Go
MEDRIX has partnered with the Department for Preventative Health in Vietnam for several years. Candidate schools in Vietnam have most of their populations living near the poverty line. Our successful installations and sustainable operations over the last two years strongly convinced us that we were following the right approach. Our 14 previous installations in schools all continue to operate successfully, and improve the sanitation habits of countless children from the communities.
In 2014, MEDRIX dedicated $5,000 to install six new water systems to promote safe drinking water in schools. The systems vary in size depending on school size. Since the schools run for 11 months out of the year, it is important to install systems that will effectively provide safe drinking water depending on the number of students. In our calculations, it will roughly cost only $1 per student each month.
Completion of MEDRIX Safe Water Projects
MEDRIX is excited to announce that after the installation of 5 new safe water systems in September, we will be wrapping up participation in safe water projects with the Department for Preventative Health in Vietnam. However, this is good news--your generous donations have made a huge difference, and the installation sites at schools are now running sustainable operations. That is, they no longer need MEDRIX intervention and are able to be safely and fully maintained by local Vietnamese authorities. This is very exciting! MEDRIX has always strived to make all of our projects self-sustainable by the people that we serve. This means that safe water, especially in the preschool and primary schools that MEDRIX has served, is more accessible to children and families than ever!
Thank you for supporting MEDRIX and our safe water projects. Your generous donations have made a huge difference in the lives of countless children and families in Vietnam, and our projects could not have succeeded without your support.
