More meals and a new cafe!

By Evelina Eskenazi | Director

Dear Friends,

2024 started with a bang! It's been a period of growth, innovation, and deepening our commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through food and empowerment.

We celebrated our second birthday!! We're thrilled to continue to be able to operate and strengthen our collaborations with more and more partners, whilst keeping food at the centre of all we do.

We are super happy to announce that we started running the cafe in the Victoria Community Centre (VCC). The VCC is an integral part of refugee support in Athens, housing well over 10 organisations offering all sorts of services to those that need it most. The café is a central part of the building, providing a safe community space, where people can come together and enjoy a free tasty meal or just a coffee. This is a significant step forward for us, as it allows us to not only provide free tea, coffee, and meals to our community in a cosy environment but also to offer more employment opportunities to individuals from the refugee community.

In these past months, our kitchen team has been hard at work, preparing over 30,000 nutritious meals for those in need. Each meal represents a moment of nourishment and connection, and we're proud to have continued our mission of providing healthy, delicious food to our community.

Additionally, we've been busy developing delicious new recipes for the upcoming season. These recipes reflect our commitment to culinary excellence and cultural diversity, and we can't wait to share them with our community.

We're excited to announce that we've expanded our kitchen team by hiring a new member, Amany from Egypt. Amany was a student of our culinary training and her positivity, expertise and dedication make her a fantastic new part of the team.

Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our cause. Together, we can continue to nourish our community!
