Many girls in Balangoda and Ampara skip school during menstruation due to lack of sanitary pads. This project donates pads and gives hygiene education to improve their health, dignity, and school attendance. Let's support their right to education and a safe, confident life.
Many schoolgirls lack access to sanitary pads due to poverty, limited awareness, and social stigma. This leads to poor menstrual hygiene, health risks, and frequent absenteeism during menstruation. The absence of proper sanitation and education further worsens the problem. Providing sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene education will help girls manage their periods safely, stay in school confidently, and promote their health, dignity, and empowerment.
The project will provide 100 schoolgirls with sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene education. Each girl will receive 10 packs, ensuring regular access for several months. Awareness sessions will teach proper usage, hygiene, and disposal, helping reduce absenteeism, improve confidence, and break taboos around menstruation. This support empowers girls to attend school with dignity and stay healthy.
The project will improve girls' health, confidence, and school attendance, leading to better academic performance and reduced dropout rates. Increased awareness will promote open discussions on menstrual hygiene, breaking social taboos. Over time, empowered and educated girls will inspire others, creating lasting change in community attitudes toward menstruation and gender equality.
