Colombia is a country that’s not doing well in this respect.
In 2018, 26.025 cases were reported to the authorities, and they grew 35% during the first quarter of 2019.
In the city of Medellín, statistics show that 59,5 children out of 100.000 are abused.
This has led us to seek international cooperation to generate a greater impact in solving this issue.
We will be training 4.000 children, of the lowest income levels (strata 1,2,3 – in Colombian social classifications), in the public schools of the communes with the greatest levels of poverty and violence.
This training has been completely subsidized for the children and parents or guardians. This includes all handout material for each child at the workshop, the conference for parents with the hotline guide for sexual abuse, and snacks for both.
