My name is Mariana, I’m 11 years old, I’m in 6th grade, and I live in Medellin.
My family is conformed by my mom Nora, my sister Daniela of 15 and my brother Breydi of 13. My mom works at a restaurant. I arrived at the Foundation 3 years ago. My mom wanted me to have a space where I could make good use of my free time, where I could feel safe.
At first I was a very shy girl, not very sociable and with a low academic performance. In the Foundation I found a space where I can do my homework and, above all, it has helped me relate to others and share with them.
During this time at the Foundation, they have taught me about the prevention of child sexual abuse, I’ve learned how to take good care of my intimate parts, not to let myself be touched by a stranger, not to let myself intimidate by any person, to take care of my body and respect it.
I am thankful to God for the Foundation and for the people who have supported us.
In the Foundation we are committed to continue working in the prevention of sexual abuse in children,as well as training parents to identify warning signs and face such a problematic.
