Hi, I'm ROSA and this is my story.
I'm 31 years old and have two children: one is 3 years old, in kinder garden, and Abraham of 5, in first grade.
I've been suffering from a visual disability for the past 10 years, and I've had a very difficult economic situation for the past 5 months, since my husband left the home, and he was the one responsible for our financial provision, and also assisted my oldest son with homework.
For this reason, I had a strong urge to seek collaboration. I talked with a friend to see if she knew of a place for my child. She told me she is sending hers to a really good foundation, where they helped with homework, nourished and offered recreational activities.
At the foundation they instructed us on how it runs, on its achievements, and on the goals they seek to reach with the children. Based on this, my child joined and started assisting right after he fulfilled the requirements.
I thank God for the Tiempo de Paz Foundation; It's been of great help to Abraham, since he improved his behavior, as he's kept busy with the different activities they carry out, such as music and theater classes.
He also improved his academic performance, as he now receives the help he needs, they explain and walk him through until he gets it, something I could not do because of my condition.
My child loves attending the Foundation; he feels he has friends and people who are truly interested in him and in us.
It is very comforting to see how much he's being stimulated, with activities such as child day, birthdays and godfather visits. It is also of great relief to that the Foundation teaches my children to be familiarized with their intimate parts and to guard them well from potential abuse from others, and that they teach me as a parent to look out for signs of potential abusers. On top of that, the Foundation assists my family with groceries distributed every 15 days. This is wonderful, since it is very difficult to get a job and the necessary resources as a single mother with disability.
THANK YOU TO THE FOUNDATION,
BECAUSE ITS NAME TRULY APPLIES TO MY LIFE,
AS IT BRINGS A TIME OF PEACE TO MY HEART !
