Save 500 Children From Sexual Abuse In Colombia

My name is SOFÍA , I’m 8 years old and live with my family, my mom Lina, my brother Samuel, my sister Laura and my aunts. I’m in third grade.

I´m a happy girl despite the circumstances. My mom works only a few days in other family’s homes, and my dad is a drogadict and brings nothing home. Right now he’s under house arrest, and constantly mistreats my brother, my mom and myself; so much so, that my brother tells my mom that we sould go live under a bridge, but my mom prefers to work harder and suffer humiliations, so we may have a roof. Due to this, we are living with our aunts on my father’s side; they help us financially and morally. They really love us.

Through a neighbor, my mom heard about the foundation, because that neighbor knew part of our story and told us the foundation would really do us good, so my brother and I began assisting. This year our lives changed completely.

The foundation has been a great support for us; we feel safe, sheltered, protected and supported, and we get to learn a lot of things. My mom feels better that way too, because the days she’s working, she knows we’re doing well, in a quiet space with no problems, where we’re not thinking about our dad beating or insulting us.

They help us with homework, we go on field trips, we play. My mom says she’s really happy because it’s a holistic service, and that she would also attend if it were up to her, such a shame they can’t receive her.

We love everyone working with us so much, and we feel very grateful and blessed by GOD.
