Report: protecting children accused of witchcrafts

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear respected donors,

Thank you for your support toward saving children falsely accused of witchcraft in parts of Africa. Although the donation received so far is not enough to begin full operations, we are grateful for your early contribution and wish to share the urgent need your support will address.

In some communities, superstitions and fear lead families to accuse children of witchcraft. These accusations often result in abuse, neglect, and even death. Poverty, poor education, and lack of awareness worsen the problem, leaving children abandoned and traumatized. Many survivors face long-term psychological harm and have no access to safe shelter, healthcare, or schooling. Without intervention, these harmful beliefs continue to destroy lives and perpetuate fear.

This project will rescue at-risk children and provide safe housing, food, medical care, and counseling. Trained staff will work with local leaders to replace harmful beliefs with understanding. Awareness campaigns will educate communities about the dangers of false accusations, while legal partnerships will help protect children and hold abusers accountable.

Once fully funded, the initiative will provide immediate care for rescued children, allowing them to recover physically and emotionally. Shelters will offer safe environments where children can attend school, rebuild their confidence, and grow without fear. Through community education and legal support, harmful practices will decline, reducing future risk.

We are grateful to all who have contributed so far. Your support is essential to protect vulnerable children, restore safety, and help them build a future free from violence and superstition. We hope to begin rescues as soon as funding reaches the level required for staff, shelter, and care resources.

Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
