We are sending this appeal on behalf of hundreds of patients in need of surgical interventions, which are difficult to perform due to the outbreak of the Delta variant, and because of the deficiency in the medical system.
Despite this, we continued to perform surgeries even at the peak of the virus outbreak, and we were motivated by the humanitarian duty and the need of the most vulnerable patients for a chance to live.
Your support stopped the death of our patients, and gave them the opportunity to obtain the necessary surgical intervention to save their lives. Notwithstanding all the changing factors that affected the work of our facilities, surgeries remained unaffected, and, thanks to your wonderful response, we managed to achieve a considerable number and perform nearly 11,000 surgeries since the beginning of 2021, the majority of which are women and children.
We thank you for covering the costs of important and critical surgeries, and for supporting us in order to continue saving lives, especially the lives of the children, whose percentage reaches 41% among all beneficiaries of surgical intervention.
