Dear PEAC Member, Friend and Supporter,
We hope you've been enjoying this summer and all the special activities that it brings. Southern California has been experiencing more humidity and heat than usual, so our parrots have been getting lots of showers and juicy veggies and fruits to stay cool.
So far this year we've had 6 successful adoptions - we hope you enjoy some of their pictures in this newsletter. Thank you for sending us boxes of nuts, toys and food from our wishlists, and for the generous contributions that allow us to pay our birds' medical bills.
Adoptions have slowed this year and therefore the list of parrots waiting to come into PEAC's program has grown...by a lot! If you live in Southern California and have space in your life to house and care for a parrot, please reach out to us and consider volunteering as a parrot foster! PEAC supplies all cages, perches, toys, stands, food, medical care and transportation costs. Birds are vetted prior to entering your home to rule out common communicable diseases. We can set up the cage (so you don't need a truck or large vehicle to move any of this,) and we are always available for questions and help. It takes a village to find our parrots a new home, and we'd love to have you join our "foster-town!"

Rising Stars: Carey was featured in SD Voyager Magazine!
Our own hard-working volunteer and board member Carey finally got the spotlight she deserves - she was featured as a Rising Star in SD Voyager Magazine! Carey is a dedicated foster-mom for macaws and amazons, especially if they need extra TLC. She recently attended the Phoenix Landing Retreat in North Carolina with board member Kris Feneque to further their education and connect with other parrot rescue professionals. You will see Carey's big smile and outgoing personality at almost every event talking with anyone who has a question. And she does what I think may be the hardest job of all: our social media on Facebook and Instagram!

Thank you for your kindness and support and for caring for PEAC's foster flock as much as we do.
With Gratitude,
