The project focuses on protecting the Usambara Eagle-Owl and the Amani Sunbird found in the East Usambara Mountains, through planting 10,000 native species of trees to restore habitat for endangered birds species. These rare birds are only found in Tanzania's tropical forests. Their populations are decreasing because of habitat destruction and climate change. Protecting these species helps preserve Tanzania's unique biodiversity.
Large areas of forest are being cleared for farming, logging, and settlement expansion. Loss of trees destroys nesting sites and food sources for endangered birds. Climate change is affecting rainfall patterns and forest ecosystems in the region. Limited conservation funding makes it difficult to protect these species effectively.
The project will restore degraded forest areas through tree planting campaigns. Community members will receive conservation training and environmental education.Bird monitoring teams will track endangered species and protect nesting zones. Partnerships with schools and local leaders will strengthen long-term conservation efforts
Protected forests will provide safe habitats for endangered bird species to recover. Local communities will benefit from eco-tourism and environmental awareness programs. Healthy forests will improve water sources, soil protection, and climate resilience. Future generations will inherit a richer and more sustainable natural environment
