Urgent Help & Care for Nigeria's Last Zoo Elephant

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank the donors who have supported the Save Nigeria's Last Zoo Elephants project. Your concern for wildlife protection and preservation is deeply appreciated. However, the contributions received so far are not yet sufficient to begin the planned care and restoration activities.

At Jos Wildlife Park, the remaining zoo elephant continues to face poor living conditions. Limited access to balanced nutrition, proper medical attention, and a suitable environment is affecting its health. Without timely support, the risk to its survival remains high.

This situation goes beyond a single animal. The loss of this elephant would mark the end of zoo elephants in Nigeria, removing an important opportunity for education and awareness about wildlife conservation.

This project is designed to provide proper feeding, clean water, veterinary care, and improvements to the animal’s enclosure. It will also include daily monitoring to ensure the elephant receives consistent care and attention.

With the right support, the elephant can recover and live in a healthier condition, serving as a reminder of the importance of protecting wildlife.

We are grateful for the support already shown toward this effort. With additional contributions, it will be possible to begin providing the urgent care needed.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
Project Leader
