Dear Supporters,
We are pleased to share the latest updates from our ongoing project aimed at providing essential medical assistance to forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (FDMN) and educational support to the host communities in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar. Your unwavering support has been crucial in driving these efforts forward, and we are excited to highlight the progress made during the last quarter.
March: Leadership Visit and Facility Renovation
In March, we had the honor of welcoming Mr. Anwar Khan (Board Director - President & Founder) and Mr. Sk. Tanvir Ahmed (Director, Strategy and Implementation) to the HMBD Foundation premises. Their visit included a tour of the renovating health facility at the FDMN camp. Both expressed their satisfaction with the progress, noting the facility’s readiness to continue serving the health needs of the refugee community. This visit reinforced our commitment to providing top-quality medical care to those who need it most.
April: Eid Clothing Distribution and Educational Initiatives
April saw our team bringing joy to the children in Chakaria by distributing clothing items ahead of the Eid festival. This gesture was met with much happiness and gratitude from the students and their families.
Beyond these efforts, we have continued to focus on enhancing the educational experiences of the host community. Our distant learning program is actively helping students improve their communication skills and become familiar with modern technologies. This initiative is key to equipping them with the tools they need for future success.
June: OBAT Helpers USA Visit and Facility Expansion
In June, we were pleased to host the Obat Helpers USA team at the HMBD premises within the FDMN camp. Mr. Anwar Khan, along with the HMBD advisory group, conducted a thorough review of the project activities. They were particularly impressed with the newly established dental unit and the fully operational health facility, both of which have been providing critical services to refugees and host community members alike since the onset of the FDMN crisis.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on these past few months, we are deeply grateful for the continued support from all our partners and donors. Your contributions have not only made it possible to sustain these life-changing initiatives but also to expand our reach and impact within these vulnerable communities.
We are excited about the future and the many lives we will continue to touch with your help. Thank you for standing with us as we strive to provide hope, health, and education to those in need.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Catalina.
