1) Fundraising Update
We are happy to share that fundraising is actively ongoing for the project Saving Babies: Training Doctors in Kazakhstan. To date, we have raised $1,367 through GlobalGiving.
While this is an important milestone, the current amount is not yet sufficient to conduct a full-scale masterclass that meets our quality standards (expert involvement, training materials, and practical components). We continue fundraising to ensure we can deliver a high-impact training for neonatal and perinatal medical teams.
2) What We’re Doing Now: Needs Assessment in Hospitals
In parallel with fundraising, our team is conducting a needs assessment to ensure the training content addresses the most urgent clinical gaps.
We are currently collecting and analyzing training needs from hospitals in Almaty and Astana. This includes feedback from medical staff and leadership on the key challenges they face in everyday clinical practice and the topics that would most improve outcomes for newborns.
3) Program Planning: Selecting the Best Course Topic
Based on the data we are gathering, we will select the most relevant and high-impact masterclass course - one that covers the issues affecting the greatest number of newborns and strengthens doctors’ decision-making and practical skills.
Our priority is to develop a training program that:
targets the most critical and common risks for newborns,
is immediately applicable in clinical settings,
supports improved survival and reduced disability from the earliest days of life.
4) Next Steps
Over the next reporting period, we will:
finalize the needs assessment results from hospitals in Almaty and Astana,
select the masterclass topic and format based on identified priorities,
continue fundraising to reach the minimum budget required to deliver the training.
5) Thank You
We sincerely thank GlobalGiving donors and supporters for helping us move closer to our goal. Every contribution brings us nearer to equipping doctors with the knowledge and skills that can save newborn lives and prevent lifelong complications.
