Hello Otter Supporters,
Sadly, this report mirrors our last report – healthy otters who nest and show mating activity however no pups are produced… incredibly frustrating for our team, especially because of the critically endangered status of river otters in Israel.
Our keepers continue to ensure that the otters receive good nutrition and excellent veterinary care. Our male is very active and we hope that in time our efforts will pay off.
As you know, wildlife conservation is often riddled with frustrations, dashed hopes and failures. But we will not give up – because there are also many success stories all over the world and we hope that ours will be one them.
Yours in hope,
Team Otter at the Jerusalem Zoo
