Hello Otter Supporters,
As we last reported to you, because we still have no breeding success in our otter breeding center, our zoological team is planning to review matters in the coming months to see whether there are any other measures that can be taken to assist the animals.
As you know, our otters are healthy, nest together and show mating activity however no pups are produced. As you can imagine, this is frustrating for our team given the critically endangered status of river otters in Israel. However, our keepers continue to ensure that the otters receive good nutrition and excellent veterinary care in the hope that our efforts will eventually pay off.
Please continue to support our efforts – we have to keep the long term goal in mind.
Yours in hope,
Team Otter at the Jerusalem Zoo
