As reported in summer, the otters are undergoing a series of tests to determine why they are yet to breed.
We are awaiting the results of the latest round of tests to return after they were sent to the nearby Hadassah Hospital for analysis.
The latest round of ultrasounds showed more positive results and now the team will be starting a fecal analysis twice a week for nine weeks.
The new cameras for the enclosure have been fitted and they will give the team 24 hour a day surveillance of the otters.
The team will use the footage taken to look at the behavioral habits of the otters.
We hope all this activity will bear fruit and we will be able to get the breeding program moving forward.
Have a healthy winter,
Rachael and the Otter Team
