Hello to all of our valued supporters.
We are happy to report that we have recently received a new pair of otters (a male and a female) from Ecopark Zoo in Kharkov, Ukraine to expand our breeding core. The pair spent a few weeks in quarantine prior to being released into the breeding area. Once they have been given some time to acclimatize to their new home, they will be gradually introduced to our existing male and female.
We are very excited about to be able to add to our breeding group, especially given the challenges this conservation program has experienced in the past. Please continue to send positive thoughts our way as this species is critically endangered in Israel and we hope that we will be able to turn the situation around.
Stay tuned for more news soon.
Warmly,
Team Otter at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo
