Thanks to the generous support of donors through the ABC Hospital and Kardias donors, Alexa Fernanda—a young girl diagnosed with Down Syndrome, Atrial Septal Defect, and Patent Ductus Arteriosus—received the lifesaving heart surgery she desperately needed. Her family describes this opportunity as a “beautiful blessing” that filled them with hope and gratitude. Every stage of Alexa’s surgical journey was supported by a team of professionals who not only healed her heart but also restored her family's dreams.
The letter from her mother, Alma Viviana, speaks volumes. She highlights the extraordinary dedication of the entire medical and support staff—from doctors to nurses, social workers to kitchen personnel—all of whom played a role in Alexa’s successful recovery. The generosity of donors made this complex surgery possible, changing the course of one little girl's life.
As Alma writes, there are no words to fully express how thankful they are.
The day of her surgery now a date engraved in their hearts—a day that brought not just healing, but the promise of a future.
Thanks to the compassion and commitment of people who choose to give, children like Alexa are not only surviving, but thriving. “Thank you for giving new hope to our little ones,” Alma writes.
Her message is a powerful reminder that every donation has the potential to save a life and transform an entire family’s world.
