With this report, I would like to share a profile of one of our Kateri scholars, Milvia from San Juan Comalapa, Chimaltenango.
Milvia has shown that she is a distinguished student because she is ranked second in her class. She works hard and is good at organizing, collaborating with others, being punctual and behaving appropriately in class. She is quite intelligent and dedicated to completing her work.
She is very capable in almost all of her courses, the only one that is slightly difficult for her is the mathematics course —during the first quarter when solving problems, she scored 63 points. The good news is that she managed to surpass this score during the second quarter and scored 91 points. This shows that she gives each piece of work a lot of attention and dedication, especially the tests.
Milvia’s teachers forecast success in her life because she is very dedicated and focused in her studies. Her average to date is 82 points. Her teachers see it as a result of her hard work and responsibility.
Her main wish is to get good grades in every one of her courses. She feels it is for her own good. She wishes to take advantage of all the resources to prove her capacity and show appreciation for everyone’s support.
The Kateri workshops are a great help. She had not had the opportunity to participate in activities of motivation or incentive before. They give her the opportunity to assess herself and reflect on the events of her life. The workshops that she values the most as of right now are those that are about self-esteem. She realizes that there are many people who do not like themselves, many who do not value their own lives. These talks of self-esteem also are valuable because they can be shared with peers and colleagues where she studies to motivate them when they are discouraged.
Her family, especially her parents, is a source of motivation to get ahead. They are always there for her and constantly encourage her to take advantage of the time and resources in her studies.
Milvia is happy because she is participating with a group of women who are always striving in their studies. She feels very grateful to her benefactors for investing in her.
Milvia appreciates the support that you sent her. It motivates her to know that people who do not even know her are pulling for her to succeed and are willing to support her efforts to get an education..
