Ten years ago, Seyla, a young boy living in a remote area, faced numerous difficulties, including food shortages, a long distance from primary school and a lack of electricity. His parents struggled financially, as they had no job to support their family. When he was six years old, his family moved to Boengkak, Phnom Penh City, a slum area for income. City life is high-cost, with everything being money. Seyla's parents had no knowledge or skills living in a rental house, employed as construction workers, living from hand to mouth, facing food shortages, and earning only housing, water, and electricity.
Because of the poor living conditions, Seyla almost gave up his study that is why the CBE school project selected him to join the education project in 2017. As a result, he is studying both at CBE school and state schools in grade 10. At CBE School, Seyla received encouragement and support for better education such as study materials, nutrition, welfare, and physical & mental counselling services from the school supervisor and his class patron teacher. Through the above support, we observed that he is an outstanding student who is always active and polite in the classroom. He can read and write Khmer and English language well. Also, he is a good kid to his parents, a good student to his teachers, and a good friend to everyone.
In the future, he commits to finishing a university degree to become a good manager in a bank. He desires to earn a lot of money and use his wealth to support the less fortunate people in his community. Please help CBE school continue to function for the future of the most disadvantaged children to assist in helping Seyla and other vulnerable children realize their goals
