Narrative on activities for this project:
Rebuild Bay continues to assist Bay County residents return to a permanent living situation. Although there has been a significant slow down in volunteer organizations visiting to assist with home repairs, through partnerships and use of contractor labor, the organization has been able to complete 13 projects. In addition, the organization continues to assist residents remaining in FEMA direct housing. One such household with multiple school aged children whose rental unit was destroyed during Hurricane Michael was assisted in moving their FEMA unit to their permanent location and provided other home essentials for the household.
While we continue to assist residents fulfill their recovery plans, the need is still great. There are hundreds more households that continue to be in various stages of recovery. With job losses and layoffs rampant due to COVID-19 responses, residents that were trying to manage their own recovery now find themselves needing additional assistance. Through the CARES Act Individual Assistance program for Bay County, we served 319 households with rental, mortgage, utilities, child/adult care and food assistance. Your continued support is desperately needed to ensure we can continue helping those that have been struggling to get into a permanent home for almost two years now.
