Narrative on activities for this project:
Rebuild Bay continues to assist Bay County residents return to a permanent living situation. One family, whose home had to be completely gutted following Hurricane Michael, had been living in a trailer on their property while trying to fix their home themselves. In partnership with another organization, we were able to assist with all of the electrical work, allowing them to move into the home. This little bit of assistance accelerated this family’s recovery by months. We have also assisted several families relocate from FEMA direct housing into permanent housing.
While we are working hard to assist residents in fulfilling their recovery plans there is still great need. To work toward meeting this need we have been working with other organizations to provide wrap around services to address other needs that have previously hindered a family’s ability to recovery quickly and be more resilient to disasters. Your continued support is desperately needed to ensure we can continue our progress towards meeting the greater needs of the community so that we can continue assisting those who have been struggling to get into a permanent home for almost 3 years now.
