School Feeding Joy for Ugandan Kids

For a child living in a vulnerable rural community, going to school is an important step toward a brighter future. However, hunger can make that journey extremely difficult. A child who attends school without breakfast may become tired, distracted, or unable to fully participate in classroom activities.

Good Cause Foundation Uganda is developing sustainable school feeding programs to help address this challenge in vulnerable schools across Uganda.

The project will provide nutritious breakfasts and lunches to school children, helping them receive the nourishment they need throughout the school day. We believe that supporting education must also include addressing some of the basic needs that prevent children from learning effectively.

Through school feeding, we aim to help increase enrollment, regular attendance, and retention. We also want children to have better opportunities to concentrate on their lessons, participate in school activities, and improve their academic performance.

The program will promote the use of locally sourced food. Working with local farmers can help schools access fresh food while creating a market for agricultural products within the community. In this way, a school meal can benefit not only a child but also families and farmers surrounding the school.

Good Cause Foundation Uganda will work with schools and communities to strengthen sustainable feeding systems that can continue serving children over time.
