School Feeding Joy for Ugandan Kids

For many children in vulnerable communities across Uganda, the school day begins with an empty stomach. When a child is hungry, it can become difficult to concentrate, participate in lessons, or remain active throughout the school day.

Good Cause Foundation Uganda is working to establish and strengthen sustainable school feeding programs in vulnerable schools across Uganda. Through this initiative, we want to ensure that children have access to nutritious breakfasts and lunches while they pursue their education.

The program will provide locally sourced meals that can give children the energy they need to learn, play, and participate in school activities. By supporting school feeding, donors can help create a learning environment where children are better positioned to concentrate on their studies rather than worrying about their next meal.

The project also aims to contribute to improved school enrollment, attendance, and retention. For families facing economic challenges, school meals can provide important support and encourage children to attend school consistently.

At the same time, sourcing food from local farmers will help connect school feeding with community livelihoods. Instead of looking at hunger and poverty as separate challenges, we want to develop a model where schools, children, farmers, and communities can benefit together.

Our long-term goal is to build sustainable school feeding programs that can continue serving children beyond short-term assistance.
