As children return to school for the third term, Good Cause Foundation Uganda is filled with gratitude for every generous person who has stood with vulnerable children through our school feeding efforts.

To every donor who has given, shared our appeal, encouraged us, or helped us reach another supporter: thank you. Your kindness has reached children who need more than lessons and books—they need food, encouragement, and hope.

In many underserved rural communities, children arrive at school having had little or nothing to eat. Hunger can make it difficult for a child to concentrate, participate in class, play with friends, or remain motivated throughout the school day.

But when a child receives a nutritious meal at school, the experience can be completely different.

A full stomach can bring energy.
Energy can bring concentration.
Concentration can encourage learning.
And learning can open the door to a brighter future.

This is why we continue to believe that school feeding is an important part of keeping vulnerable children connected to education.

We have seen how children become happier and more enthusiastic when they know they will receive food at school. The excitement of sharing a meal with classmates creates a sense of belonging and makes the school experience more enjoyable.

As the third term begins, the need continues.

We are appealing to our GlobalGiving family to help us provide breakfasts and lunches for vulnerable children in underserved schools and communities.

We also continue to face the need for essential scholastic materials such as books, pens, pencils, rulers and other learning supplies.

A child should not have to choose between hunger and education.
