Alec is 11 years old and lives with his aunt. His mother declined her responsibilities and left the country. Alec has a twin brother who is HIV- negative. He was first tested in 2011. The mother started treatment but the child didn’t and this is when she left. Alec became very sick and his aunt decided to care for him so that he could start medication. Unfortunately, due to poor nursing by the aunt to the child during his bad state, the aunt was also infected and both are on treatment.
Your support of this project has greatly changed the life of this child as his school fees have been paid. Alec is doing well and is very active in what he does. One can see the great improvement compared to his previous state. He is currently active in the support groups and has impeccable adherence levels. Alec is now in class 3 and he has been scoring good marks and conveys good morals. He is good in co-curriculum activities. His aunt extends her gratitude to the AFCA for the support which has been life-changing for Alec and so many other children.
