Lisa is the last born in the family of 2 boys and 2 girls. She was born in 1998 and her parents died of HIV complications in 2004 when she was 6 years old. A year after the death of her parents, she started having frequent visits to the hospital which also made her miss classes frequently. After a HIV test, it was confirmed that she was HIV positive and she started medications immediately. She also joined the support group, went through counselling and adherence sessions. She is now 22 years old, healthy and with no opportunistic infections and with undetectable viral load all along having been on the drugs for 15 years. Her sister who was also born HIV positive died in 2014. Lisa stays with his brothers who support her with her daily needs.
Lisa finished her primary education in 2012 and after completing secondary school in 2016, she joined a college to pursue a certificate in early childhood education and she completed it in 2019 with the support from AFCA and she scored a distinction. This was as a result of hard work and discipline. She is now obtaining her diploma to become a lecturer. She has a lot of passion for children. She is always thankful to AFCA who has supported her through primary, secondary and now advanced education, which has enabled her explore her potential as well as achieve her career dream. Lisa is always on top of all the students in the class.
