Since the beginning of March 2020, we have been experiencing special moments of general confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Government has since declared a state of emergency which is still renewed and extended: schools, worship, cultural and sporting events, markets and gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited. Our country counts today 5924 confirmed cases including 856 cured and 135 deaths. 12 out of 26 provinces are affected. Our Province, South Kivu, records 108 cases including 2 in Fizi Territory where our School is housed.
Like all other Schools, Glenn Paige Nonkilling School is closed until further notice. The people of Kazimia are confined to their homes. Traffic and transportation are limited.
The construction works are temporarily suspended until the effective and normal resumption of the activities and by application of the barrier measures for which we are Responsible and Sensitizers for the response to the pandemic in our community.
In anticipation of the continuation of future construction activities, we thank our various donors for their precious and generous donations and count on them to be able to achieve our objectives (Build a viable School for our war-victim children) and may God protect them during these difficult times of the Coronavirus pandemic.
