Project Report | Jun 17, 2022
School construction (28)

By Mabwe Lucien | Project Leader

The health situation with regard to Covid-19 has become normal except that at the borders of the country, the Covid test is required.

However, the security situation is worrying. In addition to the Province of North Kivu where the war between the National Army (FARDC) and the Rebels of the M23 supported by Rwanda is permanent and publicized, the state of war reigns in silence on the middle and high plateaus of Fizi (in the surroundings of our School) where the deaths are counted by tens per week.

At school, the school year is coming to an end. 81 students are preparing to take the final exams (5 students have dropped out of school for various reasons) and the announcement of the results is scheduled for the month of July (Closed for summer vacation).

The construction work (the materials are there) will resume during the summer holidays with the arrival of a new mason who was unavailable due to illness.

As the Headmaster of the School says: “Tunapashwa kumaliza jengo hili kwa faida ya watoto wetu na mjini wetu”,( This phrase in Kiswahili means in English “We must complete the construction of this building for the well-being of our children and our community”), Mleci has set itself the main objective of completing this building for the benefit of all.

Thank you to our Donors for your unfailing support and let us count on your generous donations for the futures steps.

God bless you.
