Project Report | Jul 30, 2024
School Construction 34

By Mabwe Lucien | Project Leader

Our school, Glenn Paige Nonkilling School, has just successfully completed the 2023-2024 school year.
Out of 102 students who regularly attended classes, 98 did well and moved up a class.
Now the students are on summer vacation. The young students help their parents with small tasks and wander around playing games here and there while taking care not to get too close to Lake Tanganyika, which has flooded and covered beaches. Indeed, crocodiles are wandering here and there and have already caught three persons.
In the meantime, the School Director is already starting to register new students and prepare for the next school year scheduled for September.
In the surrounding area, clashes between different Bantu and Nilotic militias continue with their share of looting, killings and violence of all kinds.
The latest donations for which we have just received the funds in disbursement have just reached us. The fund will be used to buy the iron bars that we so  need. These iron bars will be transported across Lake Tanganyika from Uvira, our point of purchase.
Another good news: Last Wednesday, the School received 5 former students, three of whom have just completed their Bachelor’s degree at the Universities of the region, on a courtesy visit and who brought four bags of cement. We thank them greatly.
Dear Donors, thank you for your support and continue to honor us with your generous donations.
May God bless you.
