School construction (11)

By Mabwe Lucien | Project Leader

The school year 2017-2018 has just begun  this September 11 at the Glenn Paige Nonkilling School. 172 children enrolled and took courses under  instability conditions in the region. Indeed, the  Mai Mai armed group chased the government armies and control many villages including Kazimia. Some parents saw fit to go into exile and others moved out of the village fearing the government's offensive to regain lost ground.

In spite of this heavy atmosphere, the pupils of the region continue the courses in all the local schools. In the same way, our construction work is continuing and amassing construction materials. By the way, from these almost usual circumstances  that the local administration is sometimes under the control of armed groups or under Government, the Director can be summed up in French: “Cela ne nous impressionne pas, car nous sommes apolitiques et nous nous concentrons sur nos objectifs précis"; it means in English “It does not impress us because we are apolitical and we focus on our objectives ".

Dear friends, our region needs peace, lasting peace. Weapons must remain silent. Dialogue and conflict resolution through peaceful means should remain the only option. Teaching and promoting peace is one of the objectives of our School.

To support our School, in this difficult period, is also to act for peace, to carry high the torch of nonkilling. To support Glenn Paige Nonkilling School is to say no to the cohorts of killings, massacres. Pursue the course, Continue building is a signal to tell the belligerents: Stop the wars, Stop killing us, We want to study. In short, it is a challenge to tell everyone "we want peace".

Dear Donors, we thank you for your support and we hope that together we will complete the construction of Glenn Paige Nonkilling School, the pioneer school of nonkilling in Africa and to say no to incessant wars.

Thank you for your suggestions.
