“Words and phrases are not neutral; they influence perceptions, relationships, and the potential for constructive engagement.” —Director, School for Peace
“Occupation.” “Colonization.” “Genocide.” These words are often used in discussions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but they may resonate differently in different contexts. Which is why the School for Peace has launched “Unpacking Terminology to Enable Dialogue: Why Words Matter,” a workshop that explores how language shapes our political beliefs. Designed to empower participants to express themselves in ways that foster constructive dialogue rather than impede it, the workshop has had participation from communities in Israel, Prague, and Germany. It is available to any community interested in learning how to transform dialogue through the power of words
