As the conflict in Syria begins to wind down, families are starting to return to their hometowns with the hope of rebuilding their lives. However, for many children, this return brings new challenges. Schools, once centres of learning and safety, are damaged, and the basic tools needed for education remain out of reach for countless families.
YEÇED is working to ensure that children are not left behind as communities begin to recover through its School Kit Project in Syria. By distributing school kits filled with basic supplies such as notebooks, pens and erasers, we are providing children with the means to continue their education and build a new life.
Renewed and Growing Needs
The return of families has significantly increased the demand for educational support. Children who have endured years of displacement are now trying to integrate into classrooms, often without even the most basic materials. For these children, a school kit is more than just stationery—it is a symbol of stability, hope, and the chance to imagine a brighter future.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Thanks to the solidarity of our supporters, thousands of children have already received school kits. But as more families return, the need continues to grow. YEÇED remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard the right to education, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and rebuild their lives with dignity.
Together, we can help Syria’s children not only return to school but also begin building the foundations of a new future.
