In the Tigray War, many schools were destroyed and looted. When schools reopened, children struggled to resume their education because the conflict had displaced them and their families from their homes. Not only did they lose their land, but they also lost their school materials. All My Sisters will support the displaced students attending Atse Yohannes Elementary School on their journeys to successfully gain their education.
When schools opened back up after the Tigray War, which had disrupted children's education for its entire duration, students had either lost or could not afford the materials needed to continue their education. One of these affected schools is Atse Yohannes Elementary School in Mekelle, Tigray. Many children displaced from their homes attend Atse Yohannes, making the school a priority to support.
To support their education, All My Sisters provided school supplies to Atse Yohannes's 1,100 displaced students. With your help, we can support even more children at Atse Yohannes who lack the resources and support to resume their elementary schooling in Tigray.
Education is the future. This project will help educate children from displaced and struggling families - and in doing so, help these children regain agency for their futures. Their development will in turn support their families and communities.
