Score for Success is a football-for-development program designed to empower street-connected children in Jamestown with life skills, discipline, education, and leadership through the game they love most — football.
Led by a dedicated community coach, supported by SCEF social workers and football professionals, the project uses structured football sessions to create a safe space for learning, mentorship, and personal growth.
What We Achieved in 2024
Despite limited resources, the Score for Success team worked consistently to build both athletic and social development in participating children.
Key Accomplishments:
25 Football Training Sessions Held
Focused on ball control, team drills, discipline, and structured play — combined with discussions on respect, hygiene, education, and conflict resolution.
20 Consistent Participants Engaged (Under-13 Boys)
These young boys attended sessions regularly, demonstrating growing commitment, teamwork, and confidence.
Improved Physical & Social Skills
Participants showed enhanced agility, stamina, and discipline. More importantly, boys learned to express themselves, support each other, and dream beyond the streets.
Challenges Faced
2025 Status: A Pause, Not a Stop
Unfortunately, due to lack of funds, Score for Success has not been able to start in 2025. Training sessions, mentorship meetings, and planned match days have all been suspended — leaving many boys with no structured outlet, no coach guidance, and no safe space.
Yet, the boys still ask:
“Coach, when are we training again?”
Their boots are ready. Their energy is waiting. What’s missing is support.
Why Your Support Matters
Jamestown’s street-connected children face daily struggles — poverty, school dropouts, unstable homes, and lack of positive role models. Score for Success offers them structure, purpose, and hope.
With renewed funding, we can:
Restart weekly training sessions with proper kits, water, and equipment
Engage 30 boys regularly, offering football, mentorship, and life skills
Organize friendly matches to boost morale and community support
Link children to school and vocational pathways, using sport as the entry point

Help Us Get Back On the Pitch
Your support can give these children a second chance — not just at football, but at life.
Let’s get them off the streets and back on the field — where they belong.
