SEL Curriculum for Rural Children in China

In May, the Rici Psychology course continued to advance. Before the end of the semester, teachers had steadily advanced their teaching, and some of them had already completed their teaching tasks for this semester.Through the detailed feedback from the teachers' check-ins, they have shown us every bit of the implementation process of the psychological course.They make good use of the diverse and innovative classroom teaching forms of Rici, infusing every Rici psychology class with vitality and vigor.

As of early June,

• The annual course completion rate in Yunyang County, Chongqing City, reached 45%, among which 42 teachers provided services to a total of 22,316 students.
• The annual course completion rate in Xishan District, Kunming City, reached 32%, among which 19 teachers provided services to a total of 8,338 students.
• The course completion rate in Mashu Town, Qiaojia County has reached 63%, and the 44 instructors have served a total of 26,420 students.
• The course package in Jianghua County, Hunan Province, covers a total of 12,825 primary and secondary school students, and the current course opening rate is 96.73%.
• The curriculum package in Longsheng District, Guangxi Province, covers a total of 3,893 primary and secondary school students, and the current enrollment rate is 90.32%.

In order to better respond to the psychological development and health needs of the teaching staff and provide more psychological care activities for teachers, in May, the Rici Foundation launched the recruitment of leaders for the third round of the teacher Social and Emotional Learning series workshops. This round of workshops focuses on the theme of "Scientific Relaxation".By means of scientific and effective methods, we aim to help teachers understand the value of relaxation and master the skills of scientific relaxation. At the same time, we focus on the leading techniques of "scientific relaxation" workshops, with the goal of helping teachers pass on the power of love and care to more teachers and support and grow together with front-line teachers.

In order to help teachers better cope with stress and improve their physical and mental health, Rici designed and launched a series of online stress reduction workshops titled "The Three Steps of Stress Reduction in Art" in May. This activity was designed around three aspects: perceiving stress, releasing stress, and taking positive actions. It aims to help participating teachers become aware of themselves under stress and find a channel for dialogue with themselves through art.And draw strength from art and communication with partners.
