Dear donors,
Thank you for caring about the safety and empowerment of young girls in Nigeria.
Many adolescent girls in Northern Nigeria face extreme risks of sexual violence, often from relatives or people they should trust. Poverty and cultural silence put girls like 14-year-old Aisha at risk, forcing them into unsafe situations such as street hawking. Without self-defense skills or knowledge of their rights, one in four girls experiences assault before adulthood (UNICEF).
This project will train 2,500 at-risk girls and young women in Taekwondo, giving them the ability to physically resist attacks. Training will be paired with safety workshops on recognizing danger, understanding legal rights, and how to report abuse. Participants will also receive whistles or personal alarms for immediate protection. Beyond physical skills, this program builds confidence, awareness, and a sense of control over their own safety.
At present, the support received is not enough to start the project, but we hope additional contributions will allow us to launch this life-saving training.
To prospective donors, thank you for considering support. Every contribution helps girls gain protection, confidence, and a stronger chance to stay in school, avoid early pregnancies, and resist abuse. Your support can help transform communities by empowering girls to stand up for their safety.
With thanks,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
