Participants of Self Help Groups Adopt a More Healthy Behaviours
About 30 Group Weekly Sessions were planned to be carried out at Gbawe and Nima in 2025.
An incredible 44 group meetings were organized for the Gbawe Group, 4 groups and 1 review meetings for the Nima Group totaling 48 group meetings, about 60% increase and 50 copies of the 12 steps books were also printed for new members in 2025.
It is interesting to note that the Self Help concept is gaining grounds in Ghana as some members of the Gbawe Group have
shown positive signs in their recovery journey. Even though the numbers are not growing exponentially, stability is taking place with the few we have especially in the Gbawe Group. The Nima Group also started on a good note but the celebration of the Ed Addar as well as the numerous weekend programmes in the area coupled with lack of committed facilitators have retarded the progress. A review meeting was therefore organized between Blue Cross Ghana Team and the Mothers’ Club to re-strategize for a turn-around in Nima.
