It is that time again to take a look and admire the beautiful display of the tree colors as they start preparing for a long winter’s nap.
When you make this beautiful discovery and walk by a pile of leaves, how many different types of leaves do you find? What are the different colors that you see? Can you see the veins and how are they spread throughout the leaf? What is the shape of the leaf, and is the shape uninterrupted or is it divided into smaller leaf sets? Are the edges smooth, toothed, or lobed? Can you guess what tree the leaf comes from?
Our programs this Fall, At the Piedmont Wildlife Center, have had campers facing their fears. These programs have also been inspiring them to construct the most amazing shelters and fairy villages as well as adventuring into magical places and playing games in the forest where imagination has no limits. Programming like Intersession camps and Homeschool in the Wild help the community grow through the creation of long-lasting memories, friendships, and connections through nature.
Including everyone in our community can be a struggle with financial needs that we are unable to meet. Families are still requesting help for this aid at a high-level. Everyone deserves a chance to be a part of a community and to help it grow those long-lasting memories and connections. Please consider extending your generosity to help us meet these needs.
We are so grateful for everything you do - our work would not be possible without your belief and support.
Best,
The Piedmont Wildlife Center Team
