Dear Donors,
We would like to start by thanking you for your generous donations through Global Giving to support the project “Send Baru students to Training School for a year”. We are confident that with your help, we will soon reach our funding goal.
The following is a brief summary of the progress of the project you have supported:
Thanks to your donations, we are currently supporting 7 Baru students that attend to the Technical and Entrepreneurship School of Baru Island.
As we informed in our last report, the first 5 students, Rosalis (chef), Divisley (bar tender), Fauricio, Wilner and Juan (electricians), started to receive their transportation aid on May 2015.
We have given them a total amount of $3.058.176 COP for transportation.
All 5 will soon end the academic phase of their careers (6 months) and start the practice phase.
Recently, 2 new students were selected to receive the transportation benefit: Dargelis and Yesenia. They both are studying accommodation at the Technical and Entrepreneurship School of Baru Island and will receive monthly $200.000 for transportation, starting in October.
Testimonies
In addition to the information given above, we would like to tell you a little bit more about the students you have supported.
This is why, we have prepare 2 testimonies, taken from a short interview we made to Juan and Fauricio:

¿What do you think about theTechnical and Entrepreneurship School of Baru Island? “I think that the School is a very good opportunity that has been given to us, because it is not easy to study as the universities are too expensive”.
¿How the transportation benefit has influenced your studies? “In fact, it is a great help because sometimes we don`t have the money to go everyday to class; thanks to the transportation aid, we can attend to all of our classes.
