It is unbelievable how the pandemic has affected everything in every area of life. The high school students just finished their exams and are waiting for their results. It was not easy for them as they lost a whole year and it is affecting their next step joining university/college. All in all, we are glad they have successfully finished their exams.
We are glad that Covid 19 cases were not reported in schools last semester and during exams. The schools are reopening this month and this is treated as 2nd semester. July will be treated as 1st semester instead of 2nd, all the students will be graduating to the next grade/class and our next exams will be in March. This will continue until 2023 when we get back to our normal calendar.
We have 30 students who have just completed high school waiting to join different universities/colleges in the country. Twenty-five students have just graduated primary and will be joining the high school in July. This is a huge achievement, knowing that many students (especially girls) were not able to sit for their exams because of early pregnancies and others just decided to drop out. One year out of school has cost most of the students but we are glad that all our students were able to come back to school and they have successfully finished their exams. We didn’t have any cases of dropouts or early pregnancies.
This confirms that your commitment, efforts, prayers, and support are not in vain, you are making a big difference and that is why our students or children in our care are different. We cared for the families during the worst phases of the pandemic, they were able to have food and other basic needs they needed. Most of the children went astray because of what they were going through at home, there was no food, sanitary towels, and other basic needs, and this forced the girls to go out of their way. Extreme poverty is costing the lives of many children in the villages.
Thank you for your continuity in making a difference. We can still reach out to more but the challenge is we have more than 100 children in our school and children's home who have no sponsors. We all understand how the sponsorship program has made a big difference in the lives of these children and it is the only tool we can use to bring a lasting solution to bring families out of extreme poverty. Kindly share with friends what you are doing. Let them know you are not only changing lives but communities. Let’s spread the word to help us build our group. We are only 24 active sponsors on this program, please help us by sharing the great and wonderful work you are doing.
Once again thank you so much for your support.
