Buy a Cow to Educate a HS Student in Rural Kenya

Since the year started we have 10 cows that have calved and ten families are benefiting from the milk. This is also giving us a brighter future since part of the milk is sold and saved towards the high school fees for ten pupils. The Tumaini dairy firm is also progressing well, three cows calved since July and we have enough milk for the children.

This program has encouraged many families in the community, they are willing to learn more about dairy farming and it is changing their way of thinking especially knowing that a cow can help in paying high school fees for their children. The children are also encouraged and they are fully involved in looking after the cows during school holidays as they know the cows are theirs and there is hope that they will be able to pay their school fees. This has not only changed their education situation but it has changed their health as they have milk which guarantees them a cup of tea in the morning.

We have so far given out 20 cows and we have more children are waiting to be part of this program.
