Originally born as a healthy baby, Ah Yin then contracted the hemorrhagic virus when he was one year old. Although his life was saved after half a month in a coma, he suffered brain damage that left him unable to walk or talk, and unable to call out for his mom and dad.
Ah Yin's illness has changed a happy family. To take full care of Ah Yin and his newborn sister, Ah Yin's father resigned from his stable job as a chef and started Ah Yin's rehabilitation journey by setting up a stall. By chance, Ah Yin's mother met Eden Social Welfare Foundation and joined the Service Center in Keelung to receive "In-home Care" services.
After one semester, Ah Yin who used to crawl on the floor, began to stand up, walk around, and even jump like a normal child, with obvious improvement in his speech. What made his mother even happier was that he was able to control his emotions better! "When I took him out and saw him whispering to his favorite toy car, 'Teacher said I can't buy it,' I was touched!" Mom said with tears in her eyes that Eden's service had made a difference.
Whether in daycare, sessional, or residential care, Eden is committed to providing the most appropriate support to ensure that every child receives the best possible care and developmental opportunities. Your support will not only change the lives of individual families but will also have a positive impact on the community as a whole.
Together, let's continue to brighten the hopes of these precious lives.
