Hannah was volunteering in Costa Rica on a sustainable coffee farm. She was so excited to be learning organic farming and loved the country, the land and its people.
One night an unknown man snuck into her room with a knife. It was dark so she could not see his face. Hannah was terrified as he held the knife to her throat and sexually assaulted her. When he ran off Hannah layed in bed paralized from fear that he may return.
In the morning she called our hotline. Hannah didn't want to make a police report but did request we help her get medical attention. We were able to get her to a nearby clinic.
Hannah decided not to go back to the farm and wanted to come home. We helped her change her ticket and assisted her with logistics.
Thank you from Hannah and Team Pathways for helping American victims abroad.
