When Vive emailed Pathways she described the horrific details of a sexual assault just hours before. She was alone, terrified and afraid to leave her hotel room, yet desperately wanted to leave as that is where she was assaulted. She said she felt frozen in fear, and ashamed to tell anyone she knew.
Our advocate provided emotional support and helped Vive understand what her options were in France for evidence collection, medical treatment, law enforcement response, and the English speaking helpline in Paris.
Vive decided to make a police report and have a rape kit done. Vive is receiving counseling and other resources back at home in her town in the USA. Vive is very grateful for the support Pathways was able to provide to her immediately after the attack. She would have had no idea what to do without Pathways help.
