Hannah contacted Pathways just hours after she woke up in her hotel room bed and realized she didn't remember anything from the night before. She slowly realized she had been given a date rape drug by the man who had invited her to dinner and she had been sexually assaulted.
Hannah had already told the hotel maid who called the police for her and they were coming to her hotel to take a report. She also wanted a medical exam and a rape kit done.
We connected Hannah to local resources. The next day she let us know she needed an English speaking attorney. Pathways made connections with contacts in the foreign country and found an English speaking attorney with experience in sexual assault cases and was able to make the referral.
A relative of Hannah's flew to the foreign country to assist her in navigating the legal system and try to understand what her options are for prosecution.
Just a couple of weeks after the sexual assault, Hannah is back home and we have connected her to counseling and a support group. Her legal case abroad is ongoing.
Donations like yours enable us to quickly find resources and provide timely support for victims of sexual assault abroad like Hannah. She is thankful for your support.
Also, Thank you from the Pathways' Team!
