When Giselle contacted us in June she was distraught. She had been drugged and sexually assaulted in Europe while on vacation. She was afraid and alone and she didn't know what to do. She called the police and they took a report but they didn't offer her a rape kit or to get medical attention.
Giselle panicked and took the first flight back home That is when she contacted Pathways.
We helped Giselle find a rape crisis center close to her for a medical exam.
We provided Giselle with legal resources in the European country and told her we would pay for a legal consult so she can understand what her options are. We have been providing ongoing emotional support as Giselle doesn't want her family to know. She feels ashamed, like so many victims of sexul assault.
In the process of working with her, she remembered details about him and found him on social media.
Giselle has a long way to go as she seeks justice and we will be along with her every step of the way. She let us know that we are the only ones helping her, even the American Embassy told her there is nothing they can do
Without donors like you we would not be able to provide support to victims like Giselle.
Thank you!
