For many young Americans, traveling abroad is a dream come true — and Quinn was no exception. She wanted her trip to be meaningful, so she volunteered with an early childhood learning program in a South American country and immersed herself in the local culture to improve her Spanish.
Quinn thrived during her experience, forming friendships with other volunteers from around the world. But on the night before her departure, tragedy struck. After feeling unwell following dinner, she returned to her accommodation — only to be violently assaulted by another volunteer. Her screams brought others to her aid, who restrained the man until local authorities arrived.
Shocked and traumatized, Quinn reached out to Pathways. We provided immediate emotional support, guidance through her options, and connected her with resources and counseling to begin the healing process.
Today, Quinn is safely back home, and she is deeply grateful for the support that helped her navigate the aftermath of this traumatic event.
Thanks to donors like you, Pathways can respond quickly to ensure survivors like Quinn receive the care, advocacy, and resources they need — helping them reclaim safety, stability, and hope after violence.
Thank you for your belief in our mission!
